Once upon a time in a land far far away, lived a small family with three children. They lived in a fairy tale Chateau high in the mountains of the rain forest of a country called Vietnam. But fairy tales have a way of getting lost to reality, and in the Vietnam of 1967, reality was cold and harsh. The story of Thao and her family is the story of an immigrant escaping war and communism. It is a story that is sometimes difficult, sometimes hopeful, and still hoping to find a bittersweet yet happy ending.
Thao has lived and worked in Texas for over thirty years. She has raised a family and worked diligently. For twenty years she was art instructor at Incarnate Word University in San Antonio, but she also maintains a business and an art studio. You can find many of her works on display at her home and her work.
